E-Store FAQs

What is an E-Store?
Your E-Store is a cost-effective solution for selling online. You can add an E-Store to your Web site in just minutes and try it out free for 30 days. Your Web site includes a "Display Room," through which you can showcase all your products to your customers. By upgrading to an E-Store, with one click, you can activate your shopping cart and let your customers purchase the products they've been looking at. They simply add them to the shopping cart and securely enter their credit card data. You will receive confirmation of the order via email. And -- we provide you with all the technical help you may need.

What is the difference between a Standard E-Store
and a Super E-Store?
The Standard E-Store has the ability of securely taking credit card orders from your shoppers, but has no built-in credit card processing. You will need to process the credit card orders offline. What this means is the credit card transactions will not be processed in real- time. Your customer's credit card information will be collected and stored so you can later login, retrieve your credit card orders and manually re-key in the orders. The Super E-Store, on the other hand, processes all credit card transactions in real-time. You have the opportunity to review all orders and check for the validity of the credit card, then settle the orders with a few clicks.

What is my first step to selling online?
You need to set up an Internet merchant account. This allows you to accept and process credit card transactions. All businesses, whether traditional brick-and-mortar, online or a combination of both, need a merchant account with a financial institution.

How do I get a merchant account?
We can provide you with a convenient online application through Cardservices International (CSI), the leading merchant account provider in the United States. You can access it at Get Merchant ID. This merchant account will be good for your E-Store and your brick-and-mortar store as well.

What if I already have a merchant account for my brick-and-mortar store?
You will need to check with you financial institution to make sure it is valid for use on the Internet. If it is not, you can apply for a merchant account through CSI at Get Merchant ID.

How long will it take to get my merchant account?
CSI approves most merchant accounts within two to three business days depending upon your business financial history and projected revenues.

How secure are the online credit card transactions?
All private data is encrypted so both merchant and customer are safe. All monetary transactions go directly through our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Web server. SSL is an industry-standard protocol that creates a secure connection to the server, protecting your information as it travels over the Internet. SSL uses public key encryption, one of the strongest encryption methods around. In Netscape Navigator you can tell you're in the secure mode when an unbroken key appears on the bottom left corner of your browser window. Internet Explorer displays a padlock on the bottom right of the screen. Another way to tell that your Web site is secured by SSL is when the URL begins with https: instead of http. Unfortunately, no e-commerce system can guarantee 100 percent protection for your credit card.
